Dear Frances,

Thinking you may be interested in the article in the recent JACL Portland Newsletter article on Redress I am enclosing it in this letter. Though I have let my views known to several Congressmen the bulk of the activists think otherwise. Our community is applying for HUD for elderly housing – Not a cultural center. Whether it will be approved is a big question.

I have approached Portland State University to interest graduate students in an oral history project, provided materials and persons to interview but that, too, is in our inactive state. There are so much precious resources.

I did attend a "Western Gerontological Association" conference in Denver in March. I had a good time. There is to be a Fall training conference in Honolulu in October. There is a special rate for seniors. We could have invaded Denver together but I was afraid I might have to cancel my trip like I did last year. My Mother became ill. Perhaps another year.
