We are pretty well settled by this time this is my 3rd message. 1st Telegraph to Yasumura & 2nd a letter.

Did you all had a happy New Year? No doubt more or less lonesome one. Did you write to Frank Iseri, Wapato about his fathers death? I heard that he died that night. How is Mr. H. Iseri is getting along and is Shigeyoshi still at home? No rain here they say its too cold to rain. When cloudy it snows every morning its about 10 to 15 degrees below zero.

We have nothing to do but cleaning up and washing. When we 1st came in Seattle we had a hard time for shaving and hair cut but later officers allowed to gave us safety razor so got along very nicely. A party from Tacoma sent rice cake so we had a piece of each size of a nickle [nickel] sure taste of New Year spirit.

40 of us in 1 camp about 8 minute walk to where we goes to eat in the morning sure is

cold. Just received stamps yesterday, that Tom mentioned when I was in Seattle. How is weather down there they say we are 3800 feet above sea level here. See nothing but snow all around here. We only eat 2 times on Sunday 3 times in week days.

On account of changing weather can't sleep good and have touch of sore throught [throat] again.

We now have our style bath tub so we get nice and warm before we go to bed.

We are getting along very nicely everybody is very kind to one another.

Will write again don't work too hard give my regards to all. How is rhubarb coming. take care of William, Carl, Akio.

From Papa
