HEADQUARTERS TWELFTH TRAINING REGIMENT
OFFICE OF THE REGIMENTAL CHAPLAIN

Camp Robinson, Arkansas,
March 2, 1942.

Mr. Mat Iseri
R. 2 Box 126
Kent, Wash.

Dear Mr. Iseri:

Your son has arrived at Camp Joseph T. Robinson for approximately ten weeks of training. He has been assigned to the 12th Training Regiment. Letters sent to him should be addressed as follows:

Pvt. Mitsuo M. Iseri
Co. D, 58th Battalion,
12th Training Regiment,
Camp Joseph T. Robinson, Arkansas.

Since it is not my privilege to speak personally to the relatives of the two thousand men in the 12th Training Regiment, I shall try to picture Camp Joseph T. Robinson to you by means of this letter.

In a mess hall, cleaned and inspected daily, wholesome and plentiful food, selected and prepared by dietitians and cooks, is served regularly. The sleeping quarters are comfortable and adequately heated. Bedding must be kept clean and changed at regular intervals.

Ample arrangements have also been made for recreation and entertainment. Those who so desire may take part in games of all kinds. If not inclined to athletics, they may attend programs put on regularly by men of their own number, or visitors invited for that purpose. Or they may attend the movies at the theatres in the camp area or go to Little Rock, Ark., where four U.S.O. Recreation Centers are provided for their entertainment and convenience.

The Army was careful in selecting only healthy men. Our hospital and dental clinics are doing everything possible to keep them so. Even the slightest ailment is given immediate treatment by doctors who have proven their ability.

To provide for the spiritual needs of the men in camp our government offers facilities for every man to worship God according to the dictates of his conscience. Our chapels are centrally located and adequate for the needs of all men. The chaplain is here to take care of the religious needs of your loved ones. They have been invited to Church and we hope they will attend. A word of encouragement from home will help.

All this has been provided for the care and entertainment of the enlisted men. Let me also extend to you a cordial invitation to come and visit Camp Joseph T. Robinson. It would be a pleasure to meet the parents and friends of the men in the 12th Training Regiment. At any time I can be of service to you or yours, please feel free to command me. With all good wishes and kindest personal regards, I am,

Yours sincerely,

WILLARD P. ALLISON,
Chaplain, 12th Training Regiment.
