July 3 – 42

Dear Miss Schon [sic],

Although I have not had the opportunity to meet you personally, I feel as though I almost know you because I have often heard of you through letters from my uncle, Sei Fujii.

I received a letter from Uncle Fujii last week saying that he had arrived safely at the new Lordsburg camp on Saturday, June 20.

He asked me to write to you to thank you for your many kindnesses to him during his stay at Santa Fe. He deeply appreciated your constant and most kind care, and he asked me to express his gratitude to you.

Uncle Fujii wrote that he like the new camp very much. The climate is hot, but he feels that the lower altitude at Lordsburg is better for his health. He wrote that he is no longer a sick man.

Miss. Schon [sic], I cannot find words adequate enough to express my appreciation to you for all that you have done for Uncle Fujii. Both he and I will never forget your kindness as long as we live.

With best wishes.

Sincerely yours,
Mrs. Takuyo Matsuo
