Dear madam:

I wish to thank you for your kindness to me during my long illness in the Camp Hospital. I am very happy I am able to return to my home in Hawaii through the humanitalian [sic] arrangement the U.S. Army made for me and others. While I was confined to the Camp Hospital, Mr. Yozaemon Matsumoto, also from Hawaii, a volunteer worker in the Camp Hospital, kindly attended to me for over two years, during which time, he gave me massage treatment every day. Fortunately, he is returning to Hawaii with me on the same train and on the same boat, and he is very kind to assure me he will do all he can for me during the trip if it is all right with the ordery [sic] in charge.

Please you will kindly arrange with the ordery [sic] in charge to permit Mr. Matsumoto to attend to me whenever I need him during the trip. Thank you.

Very gratefully yours,
Kyujiro Ishida
