Allen Pomeroy
Assistant United States Attorney
1017 United States Court House

Dear Mr. Pomeroy:

On behalf of my husband Shinjiro Horita I again wish to request an early reconsideration of his case and to present some facts which have not been previously stated.

As for the charges against him I know that if he was accorded a rehearing he could clarify his position to your satisfaction. I think that it is only fair that he be given an opportunity to do so. My sons have also written to you in regard to this.

In regard to the question of his loyalty to this country I wish to state that he, nor I, have absolutely no property Real or otherwise, Money, Bonds or Securities of any kind what so ever in Japan.

Since our marriage in 1919 he has always carried insurance on his life and even now this policy is kept in force by payments made by my son upon my husbands request. If he had any intentions of returning to Japan he most certainly would have cancelled this policy.

These facts along with the fact that he has never returned to Japan since his coming some 28 years ago should convince you of his desire to remain in this country and to live a normal American family way of life.

Our children who are still in their adolescent years desperately need the guidance of their father now and in the future so that they will grow up as we want them to, as true Loyal American Citizens in this Democratic country where Liberty, Justice and Equality are accorded all regardless of there race color or creed.
