September 2, 1945.

Dear friends in Procrement Office,

My letter to you is like annual stockholder report, only once a year and uninteresting resemble of jungles of figures, nevertheless, before camp close I must write my last letter to encourage some of you to relocate earliest as possible.

I have now lived in New England over year and half with considerable travelling done during this period. I have covered almost all states in New England and getting personal contact with many natives, also acquired many new friends. I am happy to say, "I was very encouraged by friendness and hospitality of New England peoples." They are well informed about our mis-fortune and seem to understand our difficulties as told to them.

The job opportunities is getting little harder now because many war-veteran are now looking for job well as defence workers. However our WRA office in Boston employment list tell that there is still many good job avialable if qualify for it. As whole, wage is little lower than our accustomed wages, but porpotionaly the living expanse is lower, too.

As for single girl, whose intention is to make career of some office work, I can't recommend to come here alone other-then accompany by their family. I don't believe majority of Japanese girls still in camp could meet compitition requirement. And also, female wages are so low that ordinary job wage could not meet their living, if not in specialised field.

But for whole family relocation such as farming has great prospect for some. For this are has best marketing for their goods then any other part of the country. The weather is somewhat like Pacific Northwest and method of cultivating is also same. There is ample good land still could be bought without any discrimination and reasonable price.

Our social, that is Niseis, consist many choice as individual inititive and personality. We meet once a month at International House and have dance, music, lectures, card games, etc. This same group sponsor picnic and other outing to various beaches, lakes, and park where we have grand time for all who attend

It is still hard to say what porportion of relocates in this area will return to their original home, but I do know many young couple married and well established in their work or proffesion are planning to settle here for good. The most of evacuees returning to Pacific Coast are the one who has family still in camp or to assist family settle again in their original home. Some has come back from west with dissatisfaction of their treatment and experience, whereas other are leaving for west. As for myself, I am planning to stay permenent at least far as present thought is concerned.

If there is any individual question or inquire for information, I'll be only too glad to help you with best of my knowledge, exception of housing problem which I had enough from my brother experiances. They are tough, but not impossible.

I would like to make special request either to Mr. Mann or Mr. Merril, if my request does not conflict with government regulation. I would like, very much, to have few catalog which I need badly for my personal uses. They are catalogs for building construction supplies (window sill, door etc) plumbing, household electrical appliances and "Dietz or Kauffman" drawing. And anyother catalog pertaining to construction of house, including hand-tools and machines tool. I like to have best of each catalog and complete. I will be glad to reimburse any expanse envolved in my request, even to extend of purchasing, if not too expansive.

Reason for above request is, I am planning to build my own house beginning next summer, and I need various catalogue for information and techanical help. (Don't worry many friends are helping, including carpenter, cement layer, electrician, etc.)

And there is still onother request, I will be too glad to hear from anyone of you so don't hesitate to write. Until then I'll say good-bye.

Your sincerely your,
