Dear Joe,

Trying to study with the P.A. going on its terrible so I have to wait until he finishes. So at this time I might as well write my weekly letter to you.

This week was pretty dry & nothing has happened to make a person more pleasant.

Thursday night we had a dinner & a party combined & then I guess you would call it a dinner party. It was a farewell to the people who were going to Tulelake. We all went to eat at 6:00 and then old dumb block head Ikari had to let someone make a speech so the first thing it was, was a dry old speech which Ioki man made. Then after that it was Mr. Saitow of 14-2-1. Then after that was Revered Nagatomi of the Buddist Church. He lives in our block. But he made a good interesting speech which was done quickly.

After that every body started to drink & then old block head Ikari said to put the Coca Cola in your cup & give an a toast to the Tulelake goers. Naturally what happened was that every body was yelling "banzai" just like New Years which was telling one or lots of things. We finally got started. There were 3 sushi's in our plates, 2 cup cakes, potato chips, fried fish, fried tofu, okado. In front of us were placed more Sushi's, raw fish, tomatoes, Coca Cola, & cucumbers. Gosh it really was a lot to eat. Also there were nice fresh oranges. After the party was over I went home & was about ready to blow up any second. Gosh, I really was nice and full.

On Friday it got very dusty and & it was a dry windy day. In the evening we all went to the show and saw "Gunga Din" which was really enjoyable. In the picture we noticed that they took it at Manzar & you could see the Sierras & the Alabama hills. Every body noticed it & were telling every body that didnt recognize them. Then the next morning which was yesterday, we had to get up at 6:00 because the Tulelake goers were going at 7:30 so breakfast was at 6:30-7:15. Then it was raining real hard & about 8:00 when the sun was rising the clouds began to lift & there was a lot of snow on the mountains.

Today I went to church & our Sunday School teacher took 2 pictures of our class. Which I was in so if she gives us a picture I will send you one. Surely I will be the same to you.

That's about all I can think of but mama hopes your okay.

So long,

Masako

Hope you can read the writting but it seems like I better get busy on my home work.

Hope you got our 2 air mail letters.
