Dear Joe,

I went to the show last night and the night before. Last night I saw "Holiday Inn" with Fred Astaire, Marjorie Renolds, Bing Crosby and others. I sure didn't enjoy this picture. Very stale and boring. The night before I saw "Orcestra Wives" with George Montgomery, Ann Rutherford, Cesar Romero, Carol Landis, Mary Beth Hughes, Lynn Barri and Glenn Miller. I liked this picture much better.

The night when they showed Orchestra Wives we had some trouble. Amy's sister and me were at the show sitting very pleasantly when all of a sudden some crazy old Kibei's come and sit right in back of us with real low chairs. Before you could say ABC, they started to gossip that we were too tall. Of course we were there before them so we got the good place. Before you could do anything, this lady started to cha, cha, cha (blabbing.) when she has a good place to sit and she can already see. Her blabbing got louder and louder and, before you could do anything, she started to broadcast station K.R.K.D. Boy it was getting bad so we decided that we would sit off of the bench and go sit on the blanket. Boy it sure was embarrassing. After we sat on the blanket our legs & rears began to get sore and we kept wiggling all through the show. Boy, I'll never forget that. Amy's sisters and I were all hoping that we would never bump into that old bag. (K.R.K.D.) Tonight there will be a good education picture. Tomorrow night there will be a real good picture that we saw around 5 years ago. It will be "In Old Chicago." I hope I enjoy it without any pests like station K.R.K.D. Joe, I'm really surprised at the Japanese people. Here I thought that they were good and had no bad parts but I've made a terrible big mistake.

Thank you for the post cards that come so often. The cards are always helpful to me when I lose my temper.

Towru is just a lazy bone but this week is the last of school for him and I guess he has to study pretty hard on his final exams. This morning he got up real early and started to study but when the school is over he will be pretty lucky. Gosh I wish I graduated school already.

Dont forget to answer my letter about school. I have 2 more weeks of summer vacation and then I'll be finished with my lazy bones so I'll have to perk up and show the B9's that I'm pretty brainy. (I hope) They will be mixed in with the A9's because they are skipping so I'll have to use my brains and study real hard. Dont forget to be sure and tell me if I should take Colledge Preparatory.

Gee the weather is wonderful in the mornings. Its always 64 degrees in the mornings around 9:00. In the evening it gets very cold hot but cools down. The sun comes up around 7:00 when I get up at 6:30. It feels better when the sun isn't up so early as it makes you feel fresh. Before the sun used to come up at around 6:15 so winter is coming pretty fast. Infact there is hardly any places any snow left on the Sierras. Sure looks hard too.

Breakfast was a meal of cantalope, bisquets, biscuits, potatoes, & cocoa. I'm always the first girl in the mess hall. Feels funny to be eating with a lot of the bachelors but I have to clean the house and do the wash so it gives me a better rest (Moma sleeps till 7:00)

Gee, I dont know what to say about kool aide situation because you are always telling us different subjects. But when you said "the Koolaide ought to arrive any day," I thought you meant here. Poor me I don't know just what to say except just wait until it does come into your store.

Yike! Infantile paralysis, Boy that's terrible. Gee watch out and besure you take good care of yourself. When you drink milk it keeps you from getting thirsityier than water.

Maybe you might keep that job forever because of the poor nigers leg. But I sure do pitty you. Especially having to wash 800 things. Boy, when I see you again at home I can tell you not to yell about the dishes like you used to. Remember when you used yell when you just had to wipe dishes, 5 forks, 5 knifes, 5 soup spoons, and some pans and cups, well just think of what your doing now. It sure makes me laugh. Reminds me what your told us about the elephants on your upper floor. Just think of home when you used to yell to us to turn the radio down when you were upstairs. Those kinds of things are really good experiences. But I think Towru will never make a good school like you because he never makes his bed, never straightens up his desk, always dirtys the towels & etc, but at least at home you made your own bed and helped a little with the dishes.

Today was the last artical on Bob Hopes, They Got me covered so after I let Mack read it up to you but just one thing. I couldn't get 1 clipping & that was Sunday be cause they only have 3 examiners on sunday so we didn't get it but I think that you wont miss just that 1 clipping. The reason why I'm sending you this bunch of clippings by bob hope is because you used to enjoy his programs. So the clippings will remind you of the good old days.

Gee its been 1 hr. & I've only written this much. Gosh I thought I was going to write some more but I guess this is about all. Boy you ought to see the victory gardens. Man those vegetables really look good and delicious.

Well, Signing off until --

Masako
