June 26, 1943

Dear Joe,

This Thurs. & Fri. we did not hear from you but when the mailman comes I think there will be aletter from you.

Everybody is fine as usual. Hope you are not too tired from your job. Pop says that if you get too tired it would be better to get another job which is at more of the regular hours and if your health effects you its going to be your hard luck so when you apply for a job be sure that's the kind you want and the kind which will suit your health.

Today the weather is beautiful and there is no sign of the wind like last week. The sun is out bright and the plants are all growing. All of the neighbors have victory gardens and it sure looks nice to see lots of green.

As soon as school is out I will be very happy. Starting next week I will be suffering from the finals and I really pitty myself. The other day I was given the elective black and I choose some electives. The first thing I took was Typing and then Algebra. Do you think these electives are good? The other subjects that are required are orientation English, World History and Geography, and physical education. Do you think that the required subject and the electives are okay? I would like to ask you what course I should take? Also what career should I go for? These are the questions which have been on my mind every since the b9 because I have made the mistake of taking homemaking instead of algebra and I don't know if I can make the units inorder to graduate high school and I hope you will

answer these questions as fast as you can because THEY ARE REALLY BOTHERING ME.

We had another one of those student body assemblies. The election for the next term of officers. Kiyo Nishi ran for the office of treasurer and made a cute speech. She acted like a niger and had black stuff all over her face. I don't think she will get it. They even had one for the Jr. high but that was really corney.

Last night I went over to the odaharas place and lily said I don't know why your brother writes to me and I asked why and she said she had nothing to write to you. You know who that whole family is and so I don't care what you tell them but don't write too often to those guys.

Yesterday I was very happy because it was Friday and school is very boring with a dumb south teacher and those teachers are not educated very good if you ask me. I took a shower right after school and then washed my hair and then washed clothes. Then I went to the show and saw the picture "Swaeter Girl" and it had nothing to do with the name it was pretty exciting to me and amy. Next picture is sincopation with bonita granville and jackie cooper, but if they show the picture on the night which I will have exams I will not be able to see it.

Gee what has been happening to you lately? Boy that train ride must have took you pretty far if you had to walk over a mile. I hope the next time that will not happen because it aint good walking in the darkwith no company.

I'm not in the mood of typing this letter because I still am sleepy.

This morning for the first time we heard the ugle of the soldier camp blow. They get up at 6:30 and go to sleep at 11.

Gee it would have to hear Please excuse the messyness cause I have to start studying for the finals & I guess it hurried me too much. (Notice not in read it the beginning but at the end it is a mad rush to finish.)

Towru will write sooner or later. I guess my letters get pretty stale so don't prind it if it comes.
