Joe, I am very glad you alived Chicago and permited to enter the school without any trouble. Your dream came to true isn't it. We are very happy to read your letter everytime. You reported everything big or small which you saw and met new experiences. I imagine that you are just like a hatched chicken from an egg. Everything seem to be strange in the new world, even an earth worm look like terible they call mother hen. And she chops it & feed them I saw many times. You are climax of ambitious for Hope in future, but I tell you ideal and fact is not allways equal, only furious eforts bring it reward you know. Many thouthands girls dreams to be famous star and they left home for hollywood. You know what happen to them in result. Many thouthands student go to Tokyo to study at higher school. Their ambitions alright, but how many student success at their school, most of them spend their time and money on other purpose instead of study. They go to coffee, dancing, drink, etc. This is tru. How many Niseis study success in Japan. I understand 90 percent of them are in black list of police. As such as Tokyo or Chicago allways danger for young people.

Noboy watch them and there are lot of freedom, of sin, lot of temptation, they are waiting by trap and they fall into their trap you know. You are very free hand which you can chose wright - or wrong, but I am not worry about. I am very proud that you are trusted son, but only worry about your healthy. You said you got 18 units at school. It seems to me that is too much heavy for you in case of such condison. Rev. Fujimori and Kashitani think so too. You better remind of it. Haste is waste. You think over again Mama worry very much. I have heard that you spend your money with [illegible] are you sufurling very bad? Your little work enough to pay your Boad? If Mr. Boulton send you $25.00 Mon. will cover everything? Did you send letter to Miss Elis? There are very few thing in food store at here. No, cracker, cookies, Icecream. Children complain hungry between hrs. We have nothing to spend, only spending for newspaper. Is there plenty stock in Chicago? Chicago is terible cold you said. Other day I saw time a man said Alaska cold is equal to Chicago top. Your overcoat must be too thin. You wear plenty under shirts. Do you try ice skates somtime? Winter sport must be fun

NO Block 3 people who came from Washington about 40 familys will move to Idaho relocation center next week. The Nisei & old people resistered otherday. Nisei ought to be draft in near future. Manzanar now like springtime. We use very little oil, there is no ice or frost, no wind, I think best climate in the year. Day time about 75, Just right. We are afraid next month may be start windy. Many people at here remember Mr. Temple specialy goh player apreciate him for his effort to keep 10-15. Everybody sorry when he decide to quit here. They are still speaking about him.
