Dear Joe,

I thought I'd put this extra line in because I just finished hearing the U.S.C., U.C.L.A. Basketball game, and the bruins won for the first time after forty-two (42) consecutive defeats. You should have heard the game, it was really exciting. The lead changed back and forth many times and Frank Bull was so excited, he could hardly talk. The final was 42 – 37 in one over time period as the score was 37 all as the

game ended. Don Barksdale a new-comer (negro) was the big noise for U.C.L.A. scoring eighteen points. The Bruins almost had the game without the overtime period, but with 4 seconds to play, Panovich fouled Gossard and he made the free throw to tie up the Ball game. The Bruins However were not to be denied, and went on to win the ball game. I'm going to tune in again tomorrow night.
