Dear Joe,

This morning we got the post card telling about the radio broadcast. It must have been very interesting to watch something you have never seen before.

Its about time you thanked me for the letters. This morning's post card started out like this: Dear folks, especially Masako, thank you for writing the letters. Well, my eyes popped open when I saw the first line.

It was Sunday yesterday and we all went to church. After the church there was a picnic at [illegible] Creek near blk. 6. The picnic was especially for the older ones. Moma said they ate omusubi (nigili cake, oranges, porks & other stuff. She said it tasted good eating by the creek. She came home by supper time and Moma showed her the pictures that you sent. She (Mrs. Sakata) saw the picture of George Sakata. She was glad that George is okay. Ma gave her the pictures with you and George and the girls in it. She ate supper with us & then rested & went home. After that I tried to play badminton with Lily Odahara but it was a sad case & it was too windy. Boy it was hot last night. We all kicked & tossed & finally fell to sleep but it really was hot. Moma's hay fever was giving her the works and it was very hard on her. Her nose got stuck. Well so long. Write soon

Masako
