Dear Joe,

We received your letter & alls well. Reading the section of shorts made us laugh. Mama says that she will make some shorts and then send them as soon as possible. The flowers are on their way. Yesterday Moma made flowers from morning till night and then came home. The flowers are for someone's funeral.

For two days I have been learning how to type from Hiroko-san (block office secretary). It's really fun. I'm getting to be better than Hiroko-san. You should see me type. Signing off till next time,
