Dear Joe,

Thank you for the last letters we have received from you. Now that your all well from the flu we have no worries to think about. Gee it sure has been hot. Last Sunday it was 100 [degrees] in our barracks & around 90-95 [degrees] outside. Amy just learned how to play pinochle and so we played with Mac. By the way don't forget to write to him because he's always asking if you write to us, so I guess that's a hint. Today is thursday & again it's very very hot. Today towru got some pictures from jack Rubel of the Venice, Fairfax & Hollywood football games. Boy joe fajardo sure was a hit. Man, he's in practically all of the pictures. We wish you could be home to see them. Yesterday, the team I was on was going to lose, but I caught the last fly & saved the game with a double out. We almost lost on account of our corny pitcher that thinks shes so good. We have been doing everything the same and nothing hasn't changed as yet. We all are hoping that you get good grades on your exams. I better close now.
