I congratulate your no 25th birthday Jan 30th. It is quarter of century isn't it? Do you remmember that you left Manzanar to-day three years ago. It was darkest life in past we ever experienced. You had few money and said good by to Chicago. You have never been away from us before. But you were courageous and hopeful with firmly determination. We cant continue to support expenses for future but you success the study through such hard time. Mama send to you yokan other day you must be received. Yokan need kanten (made from seaweed) we could not buy them. Mama used jelatin instead of kanten. The yokan taste funny that is trouble, but I imagine that when you recieve the pacage, your fellow men look at them. What that? It must be good things! Let me see. Oh that must be nice. Give me some will you? Let me have one piece. Don't be so fast I let you have. Hey don't take all. Oh key, some guy came give me too. Ther all gone. I think you had just one piece of it. They gone too fast I know sorry Towru must quite school because of induction. The school noticed to me he canceled his study. Other day cojo caught me stop break at santa monica. Sapuluda, tomorrow I must go to court. I failed to wear glasses he noticed that too. May be court $10.00 I hope $5.00 fine be enough. It is good lesson to me. I be careful now.

There is 10 below zero such cold winter back east, but here is summer weather it feel rather hot 85 is not mid winter climate, everything dry. Gardeners are very bussy though. Moma working whole week without rest except Sunday. 6 hours a day $6.00. She is very hard work. Today we went L.A. church. There were about 80 people old and young. 44 Hotels returned to Japanese already two third of little Tokyo's returned to Japanese hand. Rafu Shimpo started this year. We get the paper. At Sawtelle many Japanese bought houses. They developed widely all over now. Hospital start very soon. No body expect so soon Japanese restored their bussines. Mexican ride good car. They save lot money, but some day they will drop. We save money more than $1000 in bank already. I think more easy from now on. Some one said half of $10,000 is not $5,000, $1,000 is half of it. It is not easy untill $1,000 but easyer after now. Rev. Suzuki's family moved to berry st. near Olimpic. House value is way high now. Our house may cost $6,000 now. Old Mr. Boulton's house sold to another man $3,000 after 3 years, sold $6,900 in cash, but now it is not high. He make good profit. We must save at least $200 or more, before dipression come.

Yours,

Pa
