Dear Joe,

We got a letter from Mr. Boulton on the 18th and he told us that the Affoulters were getting out on the end of this month. Being very surprised at the sudden answer, I wrote a letter to the Affoulters asking them to stay in our place for two weeks after the end of June. I told them they would not have to pay rent during the extra two weeks. This letter was sent by special delivery. Yesterday I received word from the people that they were very glad to stay the extra two weeks because of the severe housing condition. Pop went down to relocation where I work, and filled out a departure notice to leave Manzanar. We're leaving Manzanar on July 14. Pop is making a lot of boxes and we're packing the junk like books and pictures and etc. now. I certainly feel as though the time has come.

Joe, the Affoulters left our place in April. The person who wrote said she was Mrs. Affoulters sister. We're very confident that they'll be good & take care of our place as best they can. I still cannot

believe I'm actually going back. I'm very daily as hard as ever. I hope I can quit before I hate the job. I'm planning to close my working career on the 13th Friday, oh oh! I found out that a boy in our office had sifless and I'm hoping I'll never forget that disease. It's really terrible. It makes you feeble minded. Worst part of it is that I had accepted a piece of candy. Boy, god save me from getting it.

Joe, I've got to make this letter a short one since time is very valuable these days. Especially when I work from 8:00 to 5:00. I'm pretty worn out too so you know how it feels. Working like a mad musician I type and take that shorthand. Well, I guess you feel the same way.

Goodbye,

I'll write but not long letters.

Sis,

Mas

P.S. Our house looks like a mess with boxes all over the place.
