Dear Joe and Towru,

Sorry I haven't been writing to you but I really was busy. Just like you are.

Boy, finals being off your mind sure keeps you in good condition. I was worried like the devil. So far I've gotten okay grades. I just hope I get a good report card. The report cards are coming out on Monday and I sure hope I get some good grades.

Gee Towru, you don't have to get so serious about letter writing. I guess you just couldn't take my hint that more letters were wanted. But heck, lets start out right now like were not mad.

I'm sure sorry about you getting that old draft card, Towru. I'm the only one that has seen your letter and mom & pop will be sorry too. They are still at work. Gee, The W.L.A. draft board was the first and a lot of guys got 1-A's. Gee, I'll bet you feel lousy. Some of those guys are Ben Yoshiwara, Nishikawa brothers, Moriyama brothers, George Izumi and so forth. Kenny Mayeda got 4C. I guess its because he is a Kibei. Everybody is so worried. We are too but since you think its nothing to worry about we'll try to keep from worrying.

Joe, how are you coming along with the draft situation? Boy it sure is some worry though. I think Davy Kitagawa got 1-A too. Man, I hope your not taken in the Army.

If you are inducted, Towru, you said that you'll be back here within the next three months. I will be glad to see you again but that means Joe will come after you then. Is that right? Or are you both coming together? Write more about the draft, huh!

The Tulelake people are going pretty soon and most of the baggage has been inspected. Over 60 people are going out of this blk. and blk. 18 has the most. Next to that is blk. 30. After all of the people go to Tulelake this month, the boys will probably be drafted. Then only the women and old men & children will be left. Some rumors are that we will be evacuated to Poston. But I don't know if this is true but this is most likely to be another bunch of phooey.

Glad to hear your both well and are doing okay. As for us were in good condition. Say, Towru, mom advises you not to do the extra work so you will not break down on your health.

Last night there was a show out there in the open air theater. They put a fence all around the place and made one entrance. Right there we had to pay a nickel. Boy, it was embarrasing in the after noon. Ayako Nishi & I always used to go there real early

and put the blanket on a bench. We went right after school yesterday and we didn't know about it and we went over the fence & the man said, "No Reserves" and we got right out of there and started to laugh. Some boys were there and they laughed at us too. Gee!

We saw "Good Morning Judge" with Louise Albritton, Dennis Okefe, and Mary Beth Hughes. It was pretty good. Also was some musical parts. They have cereals like Super Man but this one cereal that we are seeing now is "Boy Scouts to the Rescue" with Jackie Cooper. Its real old. It was a little cold out there but not enough to freeze you.

On Tuesday we had the funniest weather. First it was clear & then clouds came out from behind the Sierras. Then from there each hour passed and as the hours passed the sky became grayer and grayer. Before you could say "peanuts" the wind began to blow and really blow hard. You couldn't even see through the fire break.

Oh! Heres Hiroko san. Just a second for an interruption.

Well, here I am again. She said that I better come to blk office & get some shoyu. Gee its real shoyu from Japan to the Japanese people. Also some miso. If you remember misogiru (soup). The food came by the Red Cross. Gee pretty lucky we are.

Now to continue with the weather. After the dust storm the wind calmed down a little. But just when the storm started the wash was out side and I made a mad dash for the clothes before the clothes could get too dirty. It then started to rain & since I had nothing to do I was reading the paper and not even paying any attention to the rain. Just then mom came home & she was kind of saying oh & ah & I was wondering what happened. Just then I looked at her. She had snow all over her. Gosh, what a day. Wind, rain & snow. It's a funny combination but its something nice to have once in a great while.

Gee, I forgot. Towru!! Mom Thanks you very much and thanks you a million times more for the candy bars of Babe Ruth and Milky Way and gum. Gee! She sure is thankful. The bobby pins will last for the duration (I hope). Nightly we have a little tea party (Mom, pop & me) with your goodies. Yum! Yum!

We are having a farewell social for the Tulelakers and have a thank you social combined at our mess hall. It's going to be tomorrow. I ain't going but hope the rest of the people will enjoy it. Our block has been having a lot of socials lately.
