NOTICE TO HOLDER OF THIS CERTIFICATE

1. It is your duty to learn about and obey the regulations and instructions controlling the conduct of holders of these certificates. For a summary of them apply at the post office or at the office of the United States Attorney.

2. For your general guidance you should remember that the regulations govern travel, change of residence, occupation, or employment and possession of various articles like cameras, radios, firearms, ammunition, explosives, signal devices and similar articles. Certain areas of a military character will be designated as places where you may not reside and certain other areas will be designated where you may not go without permission from an authorized Government officer.

3. In addition to obtaining any advance permission required, you must immediately give written notices of any change of (a) name, (b) residence, or (c) place of employment. These notices must be sent to the Alien Registration Division and to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (the office shown in your certificate). Forms for this purpose may be secured at post offices or the office of the United States Attorney.

4. You may not assume or use, without legal authority, any name other than that given as your legal name in your application.

5. Children who are aliens of enemy nationality, upon reaching the age of 14 years, are required to apply for a Certificate of Identification.

6. If you lose your certificate, report that fact promptly to the United States Attorney, who will give you appropriate instructions.

7. Violation of the regulations and instructions may subject you to detention and internment for the duration of the war.
