Some big names like Bill Marutani and Min Yasui will not support Seattle?s program. Ron believed National was trying to exclude PNW leadership in redress and thus resigned; Seattle JACL confronted by Nikkei parents on desegregation. A letter to the Superintendent was postponed until more facts on the plan could be uncovered; Gov Dixy Lee Ray proclaims February 19, 1979 a State wide ?Day of Remembrance? in honor and recognition of Washington?s Japanese Americans; Pike Place Market Preservation Authority to begin oral history project.
