Caption on reverse [translation]: "First Anniversary of Recognition of Franco's Government. Directors Ito and Masakuni of the Japanese-German-Italian Friendship Society wished to give gifts to General Franco and Ambassador de Vigo to commemorate the one year anniversary of the empire recognizing the Franco regime in Spain as a friendly anti-communist nation, so visited the Spanish legation in Azabu at 11:30 a.m. on the 2nd. Ambassador de Vigo was presented with a one foot two inches tall scarlet-braided suit of armor, and General Franco was given a two foot five inches tall racket from Dojo-ji Temple with a raised cloth picture on it.
