DESCRIPTION
Masuo Yasui and friends dressed in traditional Japanese clothing. Caption by Homer Yasui: Some are "wearing yukata (summer kimono) and on Masuo, something like a haori (short, semi-formal Japanese coat). All are wearing what look like waraji (rice straw sandals), but that doesn't seem quite right because...waraji were only used for rough wear or if the family couldn't afford anything else...[Masuo] was approximately 14 or 15 years of age."
