DESCRIPTION

A bookmark created by US Department of Agriculture Forest Services to promote the prevention of forest fires. The front of the bookmark depicts a Japanese solider, smiling as he lights a match. The logo in the backdrop reads: "Careless Matches Aid The Axis!" The backside of this bookmark contains tips to prevent forest fires. The bookmark warns that contributing to forest fires is aiding the Axis Powers. The bookmark outlines eight basic rules to follow when handling a burning match, a glowing cigarette, or a smoldering campfire.
