Eng and Bill Tashima interviewed Tomio Moriguchi. While Moriguchi is often associated with Uwajimaya, Moriguchi's community activism includes co-chairing MOHAI\"s \"Pride and Shame\" exhibit, displaying WWII JA experience through the \"Pride\" of the Japanese Americans and the \"Shame\" of racial prejudice, wartime hysteria, and lack of government leadership. This exhibit later toured throughout Washington and is seen as laying the moral groundwork for the Redress Campaign at the Washington State level. Moriguchi also focused attention on the long-term health care need of the JA elders and helped found the Keiro Nursing Home.","breadcrumbs":[{"id":"ddr-sjacl-2","model":"collection","idpart":"cid","label":"2","api_url":"https://ddr.densho.org/api/0.2/ddr-sjacl-2/","url":"https://ddr.densho.org/ddr-sjacl-2/"},{"id":"ddr-sjacl-2-23","model":"entity","idpart":"eid","label":"23","api_url":"https://ddr.densho.org/api/0.2/ddr-sjacl-2-23/","url":"https://ddr.densho.org/ddr-sjacl-2-23/"}],"_fields":["id","record_created","record_lastmod","status","public","sort","title","description","creation","location","creators","language","genre","format","extent","contributor","alternate_id","digitize_person","digitize_organization","digitize_date","credit","rights","rights_statement","topics","persons","facility","chronology","geography","parent","signature_id"],"record_created":"2023-04-28T11:08:18","record_lastmod":"2023-05-22T15:08:38","status":"completed","sort":1,"creation":"2-Nov-20","creators":[{"id":60,"namepart":"Tomio Moriguchi","role":"narrator"},{"namepart":"Kristen M.
