Goodenough to Edward J. Ennis, Director, Enemy Alien Control Unit. Page 1 of 2.","description":"Photocopy of a declassified handwritten letter from Mrs. A.C. Goodenough to Edward J. Ennis, Director, Enemy Alien Control Unit. She is petitioning for a rehearing for Dr. Keizaburo Koyama. She writes about how long she has known him and his family, how Americanized they are, and how loyal Dr. Koyama is to the United States. She considers the Koyamas like family. Earlier in 1943, she and several other friends of the Koyamas submitted affidavits on behalf of Dr. Koyama, but to date, Teru Koyama has not had any updates on his status. Mrs. A.C. Goodenough points out that United States Attorney Carl C. Donaugh stated that there are no charges against Dr. Koyama and she does not think it right that Dr. Koyama has been separated for so long from his family.","breadcrumbs":[{"id":"ddr-one-5","model":"collection","idpart":"cid","label":"5","api_url":"https://ddr.densho.org/api/0.2/ddr-one-5/","url":"https://ddr.densho.org/ddr-one-5/"},{"id":"ddr-one-5-219","model":"entity","idpart":"eid","label":"219","api_url":"https://ddr.densho.org/api/0.2/ddr-one-5-219/","url":"https://ddr.densho.org/ddr-one-5-219/"}],"_fields":["id","record_created","record_lastmod","status","public","sort","title","description","creation","location","creators","language","genre","format","extent","contributor","alternate_id","digitize_person","digitize_organization","digitize_date","credit","rights","rights_statement","topics","persons","facility","chronology","geography","parent","signature_id"],"record_created":"2018-10-24T14:21:01","record_lastmod":"2020-10-26T17:01:00","status":"completed","sort":1,"creation":"08/08/1943","location":"Portland, Oregon","creators":[{"namepart":"Goodenough, Eva","role":"author"}],"language":["eng"],"genre":"correspondence","format":"doc","extent":"1 photocopy: 8.50 W x 14 H","contributor":"Japanese American Museum of Oregon; Portland, Oregon","alternate_id":"Koyama130; 2016.23.130; NDD978084","digitize_person":"Rodgers, James","digitize_organization":"Japanese American Museum of Oregon","digitize_date":"7/9/2018","credit":"Courtesy of Dr. Keizaburo Koyama Family Collection, Japanese American Museum of Oregon","rights":"cc","topics":[{"id":"80","term":"World War II -- Support from the non-Japanese American community"}],"persons":[{"namepart":"Goodenough, Eva, Koyama, Keizaburo"},{"namepart":"Ennis, Edward J."},{"namepart":"Koyama, Teru"},{"namepart":"Donaugh, Carl C."},{"namepart":"Enemy Alien Control Unit"}],"facility":[{"id":"8","term":"Minidoka"},{"id":"27","term":"Santa Fe"}],"geography":[{"id":"289","term":"Portland"},{"id":"502","term":"New Mexico"},{"id":"491","term":"Idaho"}],"search_hidden":"Goodenough, Eva author Goodenough, Eva, Koyama, Keizaburo \nEnnis, Edward J. \nKoyama, Teru \nDonaugh, Carl C. \nEnemy Alien Control Unit","topics_id":["80"],"facility_id":["8","27"],"download_large":"ddr-one-5-219-mezzanine-c291be03a5-a.jpg"}
