    "description": "Nisei male. Born June 30, 1925, in Rosemead, California. Grew up in the Rosemead area. During World War II, removed to the Tulare Assembly Center, California, and the Gila River concentration camp, Arizona. Left camp and lived in Des Moines, Iowa, for a time before being drafted into the military. Served in Europe with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team. After the war, returned to California and became a teacher and artist.<p>(This material is based upon work assisted by a grant from the Department of the Interior, National Park Service.
