    "description": "A letter from Toshio Tamaoi in Itsukaichi, Hiroshima, Japan to his uncle, Seiichi Okine. The letter is mailed by Kenjiro Okine. In the letter, he thanks Seiichi for the gifts and laments about the high inflation in post-war Japan. He also asks about Kimie Tanimoto who recently left for the U.S. and includes updates on his family: His wife is giving a birth in January and his elderly mother wishes the Okines would return to Japan. The letter is resealed with the tape, \"OPENED BY MIL. CEN. CIVIL MAILS,\" and stamped with \"C.C.D. J-4422\" by the Civil Censorship Detachment. The arrival date of the letter, February 3, 1948, is recorded on the backside of the envelope.
