The basket is full of Warabu, or Fiddlehead ferns, a plant that was widely found growing wild in the San Francisco Bay area. There are accounts of Isseis and Niseis gathering Warabi to eat. It appears they are drinking Eikun label sake, a famous sake maker from the Kyoto area of Japan. To the left of the sake bottle is what might be an empty Kangaroo Brands canned good, but it is difficult to tell.
