Left camp for Reno, Nevada, finding work as an aviation mechanic. Later returned to Los Angeles, establishing a business as an auto mechanic.

In 1942, married a Japanese American woman and voluntarily joined her and her family in the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After leaving camp, drafted into the military and served in Europe.

After leaving camp, worked briefly with family at Seabrook Farms, New Jersey, then attended college in Cleveland, Ohio. Eventually returned to California.

Nisei male. Born March 13, 1927, in San Francisco, California. Grew up in Los Angeles, California. During World War II, was removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. One of the major players in the movement for Japanese American redress and reparations, Mr. Hohri founded the National Council for Japanese American Redress (NCJAR).

Nisei female. Born January 7, 1935, in Los Angeles, California. Grew up in the Sawtelle area of Los Angeles. During World War II, removed to the Manzanar concentration camp, California. After leaving Manzanar, lived briefly with family in Utah before eventually returning to California.
