The Kanno collection features three photographs of a Japanese American community gathering in the Green Lake neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. These photographs were also used in the book, The Green Lake Japanese American Community, 1900-1942.

Large standard chrysanthemums on car (ddr-densho-134-9)
This family operated the Green Lake Gardens Company, a five-acre complex of greenhouses and farms in North Seattle. They grew Easter Lilies, large standard chrysanthemums (pictured), and vegetables that were shipped around Seattle and Washington State.

Hirano Collection (ddr-densho-131)
Included in the Hirano collection is one photograph of Junction Produce Co., an Issei-run produce store located in the Green Lake area of Seattle, Washington prior to World War II. This photograph was also used in the book, The Green Lake Japanese American Community, 1900-1942.

Cherry Kinoshita Interview (ddr-densho-1000-34)
Nisei female. Born October 13, 1923, in Seattle, Washington, grew up in Green Lake area. Incarcerated at Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington, and Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Active in National and Seattle Chapter JACL politics, especially during the drive for redress in the 1970s and 1980s. Cherry Kinoshita passed away on July 29, 2008.
