Caption on reverse [translation]: "Bids for possession of Sanrakuan over 210,000 yen. (Osaka) February 17, 1940. Collectors from all over Japan paid attention to 213 artworks, including seven important state artworks from Magosaburo Ohara's Sanrakuan collection. This auction started at 6 p.m. on the 16th, and [?] Yamanaka is [?]. The action was held as the Osaka Art Society. Bidding for state art has not happened in the last five years, so this auction caught the attention of many. The highest bid went to the important piece "[?]," at 123,000 yen, and '[?]' went for 85,100 yen and '[?]' for 10,000 yen. The photos are '[?]' and '[?].'"
