Caption on reverse [translation]: "Unsurpassed King of the Cello. Feuermann's Long-Awaited Trip to Japan! (Tokyo) October 4, 1934. Emanuel Feuermann, an unparalleled genius cellist known throughout the world who is now at Columbia, and his accompanist Mr. Kitzenger [?] entered Tokyo at 8:25 a.m. on the 4th. Driven from his post as a cello instructor at the Berlin Conservatory by the Nazis last fall, he has been performing in Paris and other European cities, wherever he was invited. He has suddenly embarked on a trip through the Far East, however, and visited Java and Shanghai before his arrival in Japan. He will be performing at the Gunjin Kaikan [what is now the Kudan Kaikan] for five days starting on the 4th. Photograph: 1. (from left) Mr. Kitzenger and Mr. Feuermann at the Imperial Hotel."
