Matsui Family Collection

The caption in the photo album reads "DDT section". DDT is an insecticide used in the 1940s to kill insects the spread diseases like typhus, malaria, and dengue fever. The sign in the photograph reads "Medical Inspection for Japanese". Takashi Matsui was stationed in Japan with the U.S. military during the Allied occupation of Japan after the end of World War II.
