Original caption: "German storm troopers surrender to rifleman of the 100th Infantry Battalion (Americans of Japanese ancestry), after a short but rather sharp exchange of fire. Fifth Army, Orciano area, Italy, July 15, 1944. According to Rudy Tokiwa, the soldier shown on the extreme right, the WRA caption is inaccurate. The captured Germans were not storm troopers. In addition, Tokiwa was actually a member of K Company, 3rd Battalion, of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team.
