Caption by Homer Yasui: "A large group of Issei men and women, some with their children, and all formally dressed, in front of a stone church. This was the Riverside Church, which is a Congregational church, and it still stands in Hood River. I think that this has a connection with a memorial service which the Issei in Hood River staged to remember their deceased friends and comrades who died in this new land, up until 1919. We have a translation of the Japanese writing on the back of the original photograph, and it says that this was the Hood River Japanese Farmers Association event."

c. 1919
