Caption by Homer Yasui: "Two horses pulling a flatbed wagon which is draped with representations of the rising run flag and the starry blue & white field of the American flag. Four Nihonjin girls in kimono, holding paper parasols, stand under a branching double-decked tree made out of what appears to be paper roses. There's also a standing man with a flowing white beard, and this man appears to be wearing medieval Japanese armor. I think that this picture was taken in front of what was the former Portland armory, because of the crenelated towers and turreted walls...I'm guessing that this float represented another early Japanese community participation in the Portland Rose Festival parade."
