DESCRIPTION
Within the War Relocation Authority Camps, the Office of Price Administration set up a system of War Ration Books. Camp inmates could purchase the books, which contained war ration stamps. The stamps enabled them to purchase items in the army stores in the camps. The purpose of the ration books was to help the war effort and discourage the black market selling of items. Each book contained a Certificate of Book Holder, which stated that the holder agreed to the rules and regulations of the program. Since Bill Iseri was under 18 years of age, his sister signed for him. The certificate of Registrar, issued to Bill Iseri, contained War Ration stamps which could be exchanged for goods in camp stores.
