Eastern California Museum Harry Bentley Wells and Shirley Elizabeth Wells Collection

Term paper by Shig Katayama for Social Problems class taught by Mr. Harry Bentley Wells, a teacher at Manzanar High School. Shig's greatest wish is to live in a democratic world and be a success in his chosen career. He has intended to attend the college of Pharmacy at UC Berkley and run a small drug store. He plans to marry, have several children and plan for retirement. He outlines several ways to repay his parents for their care and the qualities he is looking for in a wife. He worries if Japan loses the war, would he and all of the Nisei have to return to Japan? He hopes this isn't the case, but is worried about the future.
