Arthur and Edith secured teaching positions in Roseworth, Idaho in 1921, and continued to teach in small Idaho schools until 1940. From 1940 to 1942, the Kleinkopfs lived in Moscow while Arthur earned his masters degree at the University of Idaho. In the fall of 1942, Arthur and Edith moved to Twin Falls after respectively accepting the Director of Student Teachers and sixth grade teacher positions at Minidoka. On October 29, 1943, Arthur was promoted to Superintendent of Education. Arthur remained at Minidoka after the closing of camp to provide administrative support, with his last diary entry on February 9, 1946.
