    "title": "Jim Akutsu Interview",
    "description": "Nisei male. Born 1920 in Seattle, Washington. Incarcerated at Puyallup Assembly Center, Washington, and Minidoka concentration camp, Idaho. Resisted draft, with the rationale that the U.S. government had classified him 4-C, an enemy alien, and he was therefore under no obligation to serve. Imprisoned at McNeil Island Penitentiary, Washington. Vocal critic of JACL. Resettled in Seattle, Washington. Thought by some to be the model for the main character in John Okada's No-No Boy. Mr. Akutsu died in 1998.

(Interview was conducted over two days because of delays caused by technical difficulties.)", "breadcrumbs": [ { "model": "collection", "api_url": "http://ddr.densho.org/api/0.2/ddr-densho-1000/?format=api", "idpart": "cid", "id": "ddr-densho-1000", "label": "1000", "url": "http://ddr.densho.org/ddr-densho-1000/?format=api" }, { "model": "entity", "api_url": "http://ddr.densho.org/api/0.2/ddr-densho-1000-2/?format=api", "idpart": "eid", "id": "ddr-densho-1000-2", "label": "2", "url": "http://ddr.densho.org/ddr-densho-1000-2/?format=api" } ], "sort": 1, "digitize_date": "2004-04-07 00:00:00.0", "topics": [ { "term": "Identity and values: Nisei", "id": "44" }, { "term": "Geographic communities: Washington: Seattle", "id": "293" }, { "term": "World War II: Resistance and dissidence: Draft resistance", "id": "95" } ], "_fields": [ "id", "record_created", "record_lastmod", "status", "public", "sort", "title", "description", "creation", "location", "creators", "language", "genre", "format", "extent", "contributor", "alternate_id", "digitize_person", "digitize_organization", "digitize_date", "credit", "rights", "rights_statement", "topics", "persons", "facility", "chronology", "geography", "parent", "signature_id" ], "alternate_id": "[denshouid: denshovh-ajim-01]", "contributor": "Densho", "record_created": "2016-11-02T15:58:17", "topics_id": [ "44", "293", "95" ], "credit": "Courtesy of Densho", "creation": "June 9 & 12, 1997", "digitize_organization": "Densho", "status": "completed", "language": [ "eng" ], "facility_id": [ "11", "8", "33" ], "role": "", "genre": "interview", "format": "vh", "extent": "03:55:15", "creators": [ { "namepart": "Jim Akutsu", "id": 2, "role": "narrator" }, { "namepart": "Art Hansen", "role": "interviewer" }, { "namepart": "Matt Emery", "role": "videographer" } ], "facility": [ { "term": "Puyallup (Camp Harmony)", "id": "11" }, { "term": "Minidoka", "id": "8" }, { "term": "McNeil Island Penitentiary", "id": "33" } ], "narrator_id": 2, "rights": "cc", "digitize_person": "Dana Hoshide", "location": "Seattle, Washington", "record_lastmod": "2018-06-15T16:07:47" }
